A significant character in the film remains the town of McCluskieganj itself. Wrapped in nostalgia, the sleepy town emerges as an engrossing character, playing a significant role in accentuating the chilling narrative of the story. The cinematography does an excellent job in capturing the essence of this town, and the beautifully shot scenes, whether of the wilderness surrounding the bungalow or the interactions amongst the characters, lend a visually stunning treat to the viewers that subtly shifts between warmth and anxiety.

The complexity of the story is undoubtedly the driving strength of A Death in the Gunj, but the film's dialogues deserve equal attention. Taut, cautiously layered, and intimidating at times, they reveal much more than what's being said, pointing towards the underlying emotional turmoil brewing within the characters.
