Acceptable Damage is a compelling British independent drama that first premiered in 2019. When the noise from Venom's new tracks incites a sensory overload in Lucy, Katy makes pleas to her neighbors for some quiet.

However, instead of cooperation, Venom and Shantel begin an intimidating campaign of harassments to force Lucy and her mother out of their own place. While Venom and Shantel gradually escalate their actions, Katy and Lucy are left feeling trapped and terrorized in their home. The intimidation tactics imposed on this mother-daughter duo by their neighbors is the focal point of the narrative that highlights the rudimental cruelty that people can impose on others who are different from them.

Jack Brett Anderson’s role as a local drug dealer, a peripheral character named Cogan, provides a complex touchstone to the situation. Initially adversarial, Cogan transitions for reasons of his own to become a crucial ally to Katy and Lucy. Anderson’s portrayal of the character is captivating and provides the narrative with significant dynamics.

What makes Acceptable Damage compelling is the exploration of themes many can relate to, such as neighborly discord, harassment, and prejudice against the neuro-divergent.
