Another WolfCop

Another WolfCop is a rollicking, rowdy, riotous Canadian horror-comedy from director Lowell Dean, released in 2017 as a sequel to the 2014 original film, WolfCop. The comedy serves a strong slice of Canadiana wrapped in an over-the-top werewolf saga that thickens the scruffy cop subplot of the original story.

The narrative revolves around the alcoholic small-town police officer, Lou Garou (played by Leo Fafard), who has transformed into a werewolf, becoming a vigilante hero of sorts in the first movie. Despite his hairy predicament, Lou remains committed to upholding the law in whatever human or beastly form he's in. With his shocking and unexpected transformation, Lou gained some superhuman-wolf strength to fight crime in Woodhaven’s tiniest, grimiest corners.

In this sequel, the story picks up as Garou (alias WolfCop), his friend Willie (played by Jonathan Cherry), and the one-legged, gun-toting officer Tina (Amy Matysio) reunite to protect their community from a new threat. Known as "Chicken Milk Stout," a new beer product is being promoted heavily in the town. Produced by eccentric businessman Sydney Swallows (Yannick Bisson), the beer seems to have mesmerizing effects on those who drink it.

Lou's quest to uncover the secret and potentially malevolent agenda behind the beer brings in all the elements that made for such an entertaining ride in the first WolfCop. The battle isn't just against evil; it's also against Lou's inner demons, particularly his complex relationship with alcohol.

The art direction markedly improves from the first film, providing a riveting backdrop for Woodhaven's weird woes and its battle against evil.
