Where to Watch As You Pass By

The highways we erect and the cars we drive isolate us from the public sphere, and reflect the kind of people we want to be, efficient and comfortable, but at what cost? As You Pass By commences an exploration of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, an infamous highway in New York City that slices through the two named boroughs. We pause in Woodside to observe one of the many spaces that have been sacrificed in order to create and maintain the utopian image of New York City on the opposite side of the East River. What we see is the beautiful way in which one New York citizen activates a seemingly derelict stretch of land.
