Bob the Butler

Here, Bob manages to pass training and successfully become a certified butler.

Armed with his new butler skills, his bus driver uniform, and his undying persistence, he is now ready to accept his first assignment — or rather, force his first assignment onto an unsuspecting family — the Bakers.

The movie takes an interesting turn when Bob is hired by widowed Anne Jamieson, played by the ever-lovely Brooke Shields, as household help. A successful and independent businesswoman, Anne is unmindful of the pandemonium created by her two tech-savvy children – Tess (Genevieve Buechner) and Bates (Jonathan Ndukwe). Between her career, raising two kids and running a household, Anne has a lot on her plate.

Enter Bob, who with his unorthodox butler methods injects hilarity, adds warmth and inexplicably gets the job done despite his quirks. Bob, even with his limited experience, manages to meld into the family in the most peculiar yet endearing way. He brings out laughter, discipline, and courage, subtly breathing life into a once chaotic house. But as time ticks by, Bob faces challenges within and outside the household. Cue the comedy of errors and moments of sentimental bonding that form the heart and soul of Bob the Butler.

Genevieve Buechner, then new to the world of acting, plays the young and precocious Tess. With a fair mix of childhood innocence and flair for mischief, she shines in her role. Her elder brother Bates, delightfully played by Jonathan Ndukwe, is the quintessential teenage rebel trying to come to terms with the turmoil his life has been thrown into. They are both trying to navigate through life without a father figure until they unexpectedly find their pseudo-father in Bob.
