Bodyguard is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film directed by Siddique, starring Joseph Vijay, Asin Thottumkal, Raj Kiran and Roja in pivotal roles. The music is composed by Vidyasagar, with its title song, "Bodyguard", becoming a major hit.

The story follows Bhoominathan (Joseph Vijay), a fiercely devoted and formidable bodyguard appointed to protect the life of the kind-hearted tycoon Amirtha Lingam’s (Raj Kiran) only daughter Meera (Asin Thottumkal). Meera, a spirited and independent young woman, finds the overbearing nature of her bodyguard bothersome. Dejected by the constant drudge of surveillance, Meera decides to play a trick on Bhoominathan to get him off her back.

To ensure Bhoominathan keeps his distance, Meera, under the pseudonym of Asha, starts making anonymous calls to him. A part of her prank was to pretend to fall in love with him and expectedly, Bhoominathan, unaware of the caller's true identity, genuinely falls for "Asha". Quite unexpectedly, volatile chemistry sparks between them, and their relationship evolves through the daily phone calls. Unaware of the storm she has inadvertently triggered, Meera is shocked to see Bhoominathan reciprocate to 'Asha's' feelings in earnest.

Simultaneously, the movie unveils some interesting elements revolving around the wealthy businessman Amirtha Lingam, with a mysterious past and powerful enemies conspiring against him. This aspect of the plot brings in an undercurrent of suspense and intrigue, making Bodyguard an engaging watch.
