Their brainchild is a movie that is intended to fail spectacularly: a poorly made film with a terrible script, subpar actors, and an inexperienced director. The idea behind this intention is to attract investors and then abscond with the invested fund when the film flops. The duo goes ahead purposefully hunting for the worst script they could find, hiring the most dubious actors in the industry, and recruiting a clueless novice as the director. In a clever curveball by the writers, they decide to spoof on real Bollywood blockbusters as part of creating their doomed project.

Sonu Sood features as Aryan Kapoor, a rising star who is brought on board to play the lead role in the disastrous film. His role offers some sharp and insightful satire on Bollywood’s star system. Soha Ali Khan plays Neha Chattopadhyay, a fervent aspiring actress who also becomes a pawn in Anand and Raj's complex plot. Both characters are not just mere caricatures; they are characters with dreams and aspirations of their own that are manipulated by the two protagonists for their deceitful game.

Dhoondhte Reh Jaoge doesn't shy away from poking fun at the often ridiculous clichés typical of Bollywood films: the melodrama, over-the-top action sequences, and typical song and dance routines, often intruding on the narrative flow at the most intense moments.
