Digital Monster X-Evolution is an animation and action film from Japan, directed by Hiroyuki Kakudō and Yukio Kaizawa, and showcased in 2005. A ruthless decision contemplating the elimination of 98% of Digimon species- a last resort to save their world from complete meltdown. The chosen survivors are expected to inhabit a new Digital World, free from the virus's influence.

We follow the protagonist, a Digimon named Dorumon, who has an X-Antibody that makes him immune to the X-Virus, and we see his encounters and struggles amidst the cataclysmic transformation. As an outlier, Dorumon is a misfit whose unique physiology sets him apart and leaves him estranged. Dorumon's journey across the Digital World brings him into companionship and conflict with various other Digimon, who are either bracing themselves against their looming extinction or are similarly privileged survivors like him.

Although Digital Monster X-Evolution houses an array of engaging and robustly designed characters, the contribution of gifted voice actors as Doug Erholtz, Hiroaki Hirata, and Akira Ishida adds depth to the characters. Their performance makes the viewers empathize with the struggles of these digital creatures.

Erholtz, known for lending his voice to characters across different anime series, gives life to Dorumon. He delivers an emotively poignant performance, enabling viewers to sympathize with and root for Dorumon.
