Where to Watch Fired Up

Fired Up is an energetic and entertaining teen comedy produced by Screen Gems in 2009. Directed by Will Gluck and written by Freedom Jones, the movie brings a blend of humor, cheerleading, and, notably, an unexpected turn of events in the lives of two popular high school football players.
Starting Nick D'Agosto as Shawn Colfax and Eric Christian Olsen as Nick Brady, the film sees the duo excel on the field as the star footballers at Gerald R. Ford High School. Known for their charm, athleticism, and natural synergy, the pair are famous among their peers and have everything that teenagers could possibly aspire to have. However, they're not your typical heroes, they generally tend to feed their popularity by indulging in a certain level of mischief.
When the annual football camp is about to start, Shawn and Nick find themselves bored with the same summer routine. They decided to deviate from the usual masculinity-driven summer training and choose to attend a cheerleading camp instead. This surprising decision send ripples through their peers as well as their football coach, played by Philip Baker Hall.
Fired Up explores the unexpected shift in the duo's life as they jump head-first into an environment, which is worlds apart from their football field. Their decision isn't entirely about learning and appreciating the art of cheerleading, but more about escaping the mundanity of summer football training and being in the company of 300 high school girls. The two players have their own plans, completely separate from the rigors of cheerleading.
As things unfold, they gradually come to understand the demands and dedication required in the world of cheerleading. Their sarcastic humor and lust-driven motivation is met with strong characters, commendable teamwork and unshakeable unity among the cheerleaders. Sarah Roemer plays Carly, the head cheerleader who remains skeptical about the boys' intentions and weaves in a romantic angle to the story, to further complicate things.
The movie unfolds in a predictable but captivating fashion, as Shawn and Nick, who start off as sarcastic, lustful intruders in the world of cheerleading, start experiencing genuine changes in their attitudes and personas. High intensity training, serious competition, and the admiration, respect, and acceptance they start feeling for their new teammates seed a transformation in them. The once selfish boys begin to appreciate the 'team' in teamwork and rediscover themselves through the entirely different discipline of cheerleading.
Fired Up is filled with scenes brimming with comedy, romance, and layered with undertones of sincerity and respect for the spirit of sports. The movie prompts laughs with unexpected one-liners and also manages to successfully capture the spirit of cheerleading amidst all the humor. While it might play into some typical high school stereotypes, it uses these to its advantage to play up comedy, and the movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, which makes it all the more enjoyable.
Fired Up is an enthralling journey of two ‘irresponsible’ and ‘self-centered’ teenage boys who opt for an unusual path and find themselves in the process. The movie’s ability to maintain the light-heartedness whilst spotlighting the significance of teamwork and dedication towards your passion makes it an enjoyable watch. Even though it's primarily targeted towards teenagers, it scarcely leaves any dull moment for viewers of any age group. Clever, inspirational, and funny in equal measure, Fired Up is a movie that delivers a mixture of humor and camaraderie, making it a surefire crowd-pleaser.
