They find themselves swindled by a slick investor, Rex Hanson played by Christoph Waltz, an Academy Award winner, who steals their invention and leaves them in crushing debt. Hanson's son, portrayed by Chris Pine, also plays a pivotal role in the unfolding high jinks.

The desperate circumstances call for desperate measures. So, Nick, Kurt, and Dale, with their characteristic mix of incompetence and good intentions, come up with a morally ambiguous plot to kidnap Rex's adult son. They believe that this carefully planned foolproof scheme will help them regain control of their company and settle the scores with their nemesis. For them, it’s a matter of justice, even if their method of seeking it is hardly conventional, or indeed, legal.

Despite the shift in narrative, this sequel continues the trend of impressive cameo appearances, one of the defining features of the first film. Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey return to their roles from Horrible Bosses, and Jamie Foxx appears once more as the trio's peculiar murder consultant.

Moreover, the addition of Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz to the movie gives it an extra punch. Pine delivers a captivating performance as the reckless and unreliable playboy, throwing in more than a few unexpected twists and turns. On the other hand, Waltz fulfills the role of the suave villain remarkably, with his performance adding a layer of sophistication to the film's antagonist.

Horrible Bosses 2 blends the elements of slapstick humor with bits of clever dialogue and a dash of crime-caper to create a lighthearted comedic romp.
