No ordinary competition, this contest entails winning an entire Irish pub, and in turn, possession of the salty, yet heavenly town of Montanagore.

The twist in the tale commences post his move to Ireland. Welcomed as the new American landlord, his arrival stirs the tight-knit community of the peaceful village, particularly the interest of the beautiful and spirited Kathleen, played by Anna Friel. Jimmy's ebullient personality, dissimilar to the grave aura of former owner Padraig O' Shea, portrayed by Tom Georgeson, leaves many in the town pleasantly surprised.

Dudley Sutton shines as Lord Hailstock, a cruel, greedy businessman out to exploit the villagers for his own gain. The antagonist's plot thickens when he sets his sights on securing Montanagore to further his empire, prying on the village’s vulnerability following Padraig O' Shea's apparent financial ruin.

Jimmy, completely ignorant of Hailstock's wicked plans, is initially seen juggling the cultural shocks while familiarizing himself with his new surroundings. As he breaks the barriers of race, culture, and class, Jimmy eventually finds himself at the heart of the village, bearing the responsibility of rejuvenating the spirit of the locals and helping them protect their beloved hamlet from Hailstock's rapacious clutches.
