Ju Dou

Set in a strongly traditional, atheistic, and superstitious society in 1920s China, Ju Dou revolves around an ill-treated young woman Ju Dou portrayed by the charismatic and extremely talented Gong Li. The movie's title character, Ju Dou is sold to Jin-shan, a rich silk dyer and dye mill owner, played by Li Wei.
