This organization hires out actors to play pseudo-family members for lonely clients, creating a fabricated semblance of family life. Lost and nubile, Noriko willingly becomes a member and adopts the name Mitsuko, participating in these bizarre staged families. As Noriko/Mitsuko plunges deeper into this strange world of rented relatives, the boundaries between her real and assumed identity start to blur.

Meanwhile, after Noriko's disappearance, her sister Yuka becomes curious and starts engaging with the same forum, eventually ending up in Tokyo herself. The distraught father of the girls, trying to unravel the mystery of his daughters' disappearance, embarks on a complex investigation of clues, which leads him face-to-face with his worst fears.
