His self-imposed isolation is disrupted when an enigmatic woman, Kem (Pippa Nixon) moves into the flat opposite his. Andrew observes Kem through his window, struck by her magnetic personality and beauty. What begins as a fascination turns to obsession as Andrew becomes increasingly drawn to this mysterious woman.

When Kem suddenly disappears, Andrew finds himself thrust into a dark and perilous underworld that exists beneath the surface of the city. As he sets out to find her, he's forced to confront not just the enigmatic criminal underworld but more importantly, his own crippling fears and personal demons. Andrew realizes that, in order to find and rescue Kem, he must face his own past trauma, accept it and move beyond the safety of his apartment.

Throughout the movie, the audience can't help but be impressed by the storytelling dynamic of director Sean Spencer. The contrast between the protagonist's sterile high-rise apartment and the gritty, chaotic city below is particularly well-achieved, creating a palpable tension that conveys Andrew's inner struggle.

Jason Wong plays the nemesis, Chen, who is deeply intertwined with Kem's life. Wong delivers a stunning portrayal of a controlling figure, riddled with his own complexities. His menacing appearance and manipulative behavior only add layers to the suspenseful, captivating narrative.

Nevertheless, while Panic does provide a thrilling criminal plot, it's truly about more profound themes—fear, trauma, isolation and redemption.
