Brendan Fletcher plays David Muir, Darren’s mildly awkward, somewhat misguided, yet fiercely loyal best friend whose life is starkly different from Darren. Struggling daily with an abusive mother and seldom having enough money for his next meal, David's experiences starkly contracts Darren's affluent upbringing. Fletcher's masterful portrayal of this complex character adds substantial depth to the movie.

Bill Switzer comes into the picture as Andrew, a new student at Darren’s school. Having moved to British Columbia from another province, Andrew doesn't immediately fit into Darren's social circle. This sense of being an outsider makes him an easy target for manipulation. Switzer shines in his portrayal of this naïve and innocent character, who is nonetheless key to the narrative.

As the plot unfolds, it’s seen that the thread of dissatisfaction and the taste for rebellion connects these three teenagers. They're driven to challenge the system in their ways, thereby setting the stage for a web of troublesome situations.
