Roddy McDowall’s endearing and excellent performance turns this transformation from cultured to cowboy into something far from contrived and creates a multifaceted protagonist that is a joy to root for.

Suzanne Pleshette, playing Arabella Flagg, the resourceful sister who accompanies Griffin on his search for young Jack, is the film’s heart and soul.
