The Pallbearer

Aside from the awkward funeral rites, Bill's tragically grief-stricken mother, played by Barbara Hershey, mistakes Tom for her deceased son's closest confidant. She leans onto him for emotional support, which to everyone's surprise, escalates into a complex romance between Tom and the much older woman, leading to a series of humorous and often darkly troubling situations.

Meanwhile, Tom also finds himself caught up in a quest to reconnect with an old high school crush, Julie DeMarco, portrayed by Gwyneth Paltrow. Julie, being unaware of Tom's feelings, finds herself drawn towards his seemingly compassionate character. This results in a complicated romantic triangle, that adds plenty of twists and turns to the story.

David Schwimmer brings out Tom's character with a distinctive mix of comedy, innocence, and discomfort.
