We Are Family

Revolving around Bastien's big idea, the narrative comprises of different families – sophisticated, hippy, rigorous, and lax – that are all vividly portrayed with their unique attributes and problems. Julie Gayet plays the role of Claire, a modern mother who's involved with her children but is unaware of their plan. She charms the audience with her carefree yet caring demeanor. Thierry Neuvic, playing the role of Jean, adds a pertinent sense of realistic parenting underlining the whole plot. Julie Depardieu, playing Marie, is also splendid as a loving yet sometimes flustered mother of one of Bastien's half-siblings. The adult cast members’ performances further amplify the disparity between the kids’ fantasy world and their vision of adult responsibilities.

The younger cast, especially Azaïs-Freslon, bring energy and authenticity to the film, providing the viewpoint of the young and the restless in the chaotic world. The other youths – Lucille Glen, Luna Lou, and Lilian Dugois, to name a few – shine in their respective roles, bringing layers to their characters.
