Category 7: End of the World is a gripping miniseries from the CBS network that aired in November 2005. Produced following the success of the 2004 film Category 6: Day of Destruction, this sequel continues to examine the consequences of severe weather conditions while incorporating aspects of political intrigue and human drama.

This miniseries brings back Emmy Award-winning actor Randy Quaid as tornado-chasing FEMA Director 'Tornado Tommy' Dixon, but the cast extends far beyond this recurring character. The ensemble includes numerous well-known and respected actors such as Shannen Doherty, Gina Gershon, John Kapelos, Swoosie Kurtz, Andrea Lui, Cameron Daddo, Sebastian Spence, David Alpay, Tom Skerritt, with James Brolin and Adam Rodr bringing a touch of Hollywood sheen.

Alongside him, Cameron Daddo as Ross Duffy, the British scientist and hurricane enthusiast, who teams up with Faith Clavell, and John Kapelos as Monty Monkton, a televangelist who 'predicts' the storms.

The miniseries seeks to blend the catastrophic with the personal and political, where domestic issues and political tensions run parallel with the impending storm disaster. Andrea Lui plays Joanna, a FEMA team member struggling with her past, whereas Sebastian Spence is Nigel, Faith Clavell's assistant whose loyalty is tested when the storm intensifies. Adding to the intrigue, David Alpay portrays Ritter, the personal aide to the President, trying to weight his personal ambitions with the need to protect the country from the looming catastrophe.
