Ghost Trackers

Ghost Trackers is an exciting teen reality show that aired on YTV from 2005, created by Lawrence Mirkin and produced by CCI Entertainment. The show centres around young contestants, ranging in age from twelve to fourteen, who are ushered into a purportedly haunted location and tasked with investigating for alleged otherworldly activity.

Structured episodically each season, Ghost Trackers begins with an introduction to the first location of paranormal interest. Hosted by dynamic host Joe MacLeod, better known as Canadian radio personality Fearless Fred, each episode sees two young Ghost Trackers equipped with advanced tools such as infrared cameras, electronic voice phenomenon recorders, and temperature readers. Using this specialised gear, trackers can record and measure physical traces that might indicate the presence of supernatural entities.

Joe MacLeod and a group of three experts sit in this Command Centre and guide the young contestants through the exploration. Apart from navigating their paths, the panel also provides critical analysis of the evidence gathered by the contestants. Offering insights about the history and known paranormal activity of the location, they provide a richer context to the young Tracker's attempts. Using this information, they judge and score each contestant's bravery, investigation skills, and teamwork abilities.

Each episode concludes with the host and panel of experts judging and scoring each Tracker's performance. Factors such as bravery, strategic planning, evidence gathered and the overall involvement in the investigation are considered for evaluation. The Tracker with the highest score goes on to compete in the next round, advancing further in the competition.
