Ultra-advanced weaponry and power, promised by the Quickening, holds an irresistible allure for these rogue Immortals. However, they are pledged not to fight each other due to the unwavering code known as the 'Jettator Oath.' This oath was taken with the hope that, without their interference, humanity would recover. Only one Immortal, the relentless and fearsome Kortan, refuses to take this oath, instead choosing to seek total control.

Quentin MacLeod is chosen as the 'Last of the MacLeods' following the decimation of his clan by Kortan's forces, and he becomes the sole hope for the future of humanity. Quentin, under the mentorship of Ramirez, another ancient Immortal, embarks on a journey to master ancient combat techniques, understand the complex nature of Immortality, and uphold a new brand of leadership in the ravaged world.

Quentin's mission, a crucial and intricate part of the series, is to challenge the rogue Immortals, consume their power and knowledge through the Quickening, and ultimately confront Kortan to reclaim peace and order. On this journey, Quentin is guided by 'Jettators,' retreating Immortals who pass on their wisdom and aid him in building the skills needed to defeat Kortan.
