Edward Mulhare takes up the role of Devon Miles, the trusted right-hand person of Wilton Knight and the main person to guide Michael on his missions. His dignified, charismatic, and occasionally wry character effectively balances Hasselhoff's lively portrayal of Michael.

Patricia McPherson plays Bonnie Barstow, a vivacious and intelligent lead engineer who is responsible for maintaining and repairing KITT. She is an integral part of the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG), the private justice organization employing Michael Knight. McPherson's character not only adds an element of romance but also contrasts the male-dominated environment, highlighting her skills and intelligence whilst working with high-tech tools in an era when very few women were seen in such roles.
