Rudie's got great news. He's borrowed Harajuku Studios for the night. They have six hours to film a hit music video. G and the others object, there's no plan and they haven't rehearsed. Rudie tells them they're going to "wing it." There follows a chaotic night. Rudie has Love fly a fake spaceship while singing with Angel, who rides a fake comet and plays the Queen of Outer Space. They get tangled in the wires and crash. Baby has better luck tap dancing with some baby penguins, but Rudie cuts her act short and moves on to Music fighting some sparring robots he borrowed from a science fiction set next door. G brings it all home, by singing on a sinking ship set. G quickly edits all the crazy footage into a surprisingly good music video, which Rudie accidentally deletes! No problem, now they know they can do it, they'll just shoot a new video. Rudie knows a guy who will let them use the sound stage at Dodgy Equipment Studios. "Lights! Camera! Disaster! Take two!" laughs Music with delight. HJ5's new music video "Be Who You Are" only gets one like on KuuKuu Tube, while their arch-rivals (girl band The Kimberlys) gets a million likes by ripping off an HJ5 song. Love programs a trend-predictor to help the girls get more likes than The Kimberlys. The competition is ON! HJ5 gets more likes with their uniphants in bowler hats doing tuba parkour video. The Kimberlys counter with Extreme Polka. HJ5 posts a city-wide Giant Pinball video, rising to the top until The Kimberlys beat them with freestyling Monster Pets. HJ5 sky dives into a giant pie! The Kimberlys are about to break all records by singing the highest note ever from a balloon stage that lifts them into the atmosphere. HJ5 gets a floating stage of their own, but quickly realize they should just be who they are. They let The Kimberly's win the "like" contest by hitting the highest note ever recorded. That's when they realize Rudie only posted their first video to his Granny Rhodes. Love sends "Be Who You Are" out

Kuu Kuu Harajuku is an engaging animated series produced in Australia that initially launched in 2015 on 10 Peach. Created by Australian singer-songwriter, fashion designer, and actress Gwen Stefani, the series is a colorful blend of music, style, and boundless creativity. The show is set in the vibrant and highly stylized world of Harajuku, a district in Tokyo renowned for its riotous blend of color, fashion, and pop culture.

The series focuses on live music band HJ5, a group of five girls who are complete best friends and love to perform music in the lively district of Harajuku. The band members consist of the group's fearless leader, G, loveable goofball Love, fiercely independent Angel, techno-geek and inventor Music, and baby of the group Baby. Each character has her distinguishing style and personality, reinforcing themes of individuality and empowerment prevalent throughout the series.

On the surface, Kuu Kuu Harajuku might vend like a conventional band-on-tour-series, but it’s anything but commonplace. The HJ5 journey to stardom is not without its fair share of bizarre adventures. Their concerts always lead to fantastical misadventures that are far from average. From supernatural sushi turning people into monsters to adorable (but mischievous) squishy Harajuku natives known as the Kawaiimals, there’s never a dull moment in their adventurous lives.

While striving hard to perform at their gigs, the HJ5 band members are continuously drawn into a parade of wild, whimsical, and wacky adventures. They explore mysterious happenings, clash with affably eccentric villains, and solve unexpected mysteries. They are always thwarted by outrageous circumstances beyond their control, such as alien invasions, paranormal activities, or general pandemonium breaking out across the city. But no matter the odds, the HJ5's unbeatable team spirit keeps them united as they overcome every obstacle together.

The show has an upbeat energy upheld by a dynamic visual palette that captures the unique essence of Harajuku culture. Kuu Kuu Harajuku's animation style is wildly colorful and kinetic, reflecting the energy and eclectic style of the Harajuku district and Stefani's distinct fashion sense. Indeed, the show is a tribute to Japanese youth culture, showcasing kawaii (cute) fashion, innovative gadgets, and a kaleidoscopic array of vibrant environments.

One of the defining features of Kuu Kuu Harajuku is its toe-tapping music. Given that it revolves around a musical band, the show is brimming with catchy tunes and music videos that keep viewers humming long after the episodes end. The soundtracks are infectious, mirroring the diverse genres of contemporary pop music including electropop, bubblegum pop, dance music, and even hints of rock and hip hop.

Each episode of Kuu Kuu Harajuku encapsulates life lessons that subtly emphasize the importance of friendship, teamwork, resilience, and individuality. The narrative subtly coaches life skills such as problem-solving and conflict resolution, delivering an empowering message of self-expression and self-confidence. It encourages cultural exploration and creativity, promoting a positive global outlook in its young demographic while also having enough sophistication to sustain adult interest.

In a nutshell, Kuu Kuu Harajuku is a vibrant and positive show that brings a fascinating mix of music, fashion, friendship, and adventure contained within its imaginative narrative.
