Motorcity is an American animated television series that aired on the Disney XD channel from 2012 to 2013. The show spans a total of 20 episodes, each one meticulously crafted to transport viewers into a fascinating dystopian future. However, Kane is not the benevolent ruler he projects himself as; he has oppressive control over Detroit Deluxe, has banned personal motor vehicles, and continually keeps its citizens under surveillance.

Beneath this advanced city lies the old Detroit, now known as Motorcity. As the name implies, Motorcity is all about cars - a haven for hot-rod loving youths and motorists. It’s the complete opposite of the controlled, orderly world above, as it is filled with grunge, grit, and freedom. This underground society is where individuals live without the restrictions imposed by Kane in the world above.

The core of the series revolves around Mike Chilton, the fearless and youthful leader of a band of rebels, known as 'The Burners.' The Burners are a group of car enthusiasts who customize their vehicles into machines of war to withstand the numerous challenges the group faces. Mike and his Burners - including tech genius Chuck, skilled artist and mechanic Julie, the brute but lovable Texas, and the laid-back Dutch - fight back against Kane’s dictatorial rule, intending to protect the freedom of their underground city.

Throughout the series, Motorcity presents us thrilling, car-fueled adventures juxtaposed with the ongoing battle for freedom and control, unconventionally pairing the aura of dystopian narratives with an upbeat, youthful energy.
