Suzhal - The Vortex

It's the day of the Soorasamharam. Sundar, Malathy and Dhamu grieve as a family. The goons transport the trafficked girls. Sakkarai is still fixated on who could have locked the cupboard. He declares that the person who locked it must be the killer and pulls his gun on his suspect, Moorthy! Moorthy swiftly attacks Sakkarai and escapes. In a flashback to 8 days ago, we see Moorthy enter the cottage through the tunnel to beg Chellappa to stop pursuing the trafficking case. Chellappa tells him that he first discovered that it's not possible to run a trafficking ring in Kaalipattinam without Moorthy's help. When he found that Moorthy had an illicit affair with Saroja who is now in prison, he figured that Saroja is the kingpin of the whole operation. Moorthy agrees and says he is flattered by Saroja's attention and would do anything for her. When Chellappa says he has hard evidence against her, Moorthy shoots him! Moorthy then wipes his gun and places it in Chellappa's hand to make it look

Amid the chaos, Sakkarai and Moorthy find themselves perplexed by the young woman from the crime scene, who sits mute and expressionless through the interrogation.
