The Troop

The Troop, a live-action television series, debuted on the Nickelodeon network in 2009 and ran until 2013, captivating audiences with its blend of comedy and sci-fi in a teenage context. The show spins a tale of a secret society named The Troop, whose mission is to protect the world from dangerous monsters and supernatural creatures that have infiltrated the human world.

The protagonist, Jake Collins (played by Nicholas Purcell), is a typical high school student with a knack for skateboarding and attracting school trouble. However, his ordinary life takes a thrilling turn when he is chosen by the organization's international headquarters to lead the Troop's local division. On the other hand, Felix is the conventionally awkward nerd whose intelligence plays a great role in their daily combat with monsters. Later on, they are joined by the charming and fearless Kirby (Matt Shively) and the rigorous and experienced Cadence (Malese Jow).

The Troop employees Mr. Stockley (John Marshall Jones), their adult supervisor and the school's administrator, maintaining the balance between their everyday high school dramas and adrenaline-filled monster hunts. He gives them access to state-of-the-art weaponry designed to trap or banish, but not to kill monsters, insisting that The Troop represents humanity's defense rather than an extermination force.

The show stands out due to its unique incorporation of a fantastical world of supernatural elements into a traditional high school setting.
