YATTERMAN

Yatterman is a lively, vividly colored anime series, initially premiering in Japan on Nippon Television back in 2008. A reimagination of the original 1977 show which was part of the Time Bokan franchise, Yatterman quickly gained recognition for its kitschy humor, lighthearted action scenes and vibrant animation by Tatsunoko Production, the same studio behind the original series.

Their chief adversaries are the Doronbo Gang, comprised of Leader Dokurobei’s three subordinates: Boyacky, a rat-faced, crafty inventor, Tonzura, the muscle-tanked yet timid member, and the group's seductive yet immature leader, Doronjo. The Doronbo Gang, being consistent throughout the Time Bokan series, is known for their persistent mischief and chaotic plans, usually revolving around their quests to locate the Dokuro Stones, which are believed to grant wishes upon their collection. Despite their intentions, they maintain an endearing characteristic with their infallible sense of humor and an uncanny habit of landing into laughable predicaments.

Another highlight of Yatterman is the inclusion of robots of all sizes and shapes, known as Mechas. Both Yatterman and the Doronbo gang utilize these robots in their adventures. These include Yatterman’s mascot robot, Yatterwan, a large canine-inspired machine capable of shooting small robots from its mouth, along with a variety of comedic and uniquely designed robots built by the Doronbo Gang for their various plots.
